Declutter Learning Session with BPI

Last July 11, 2019, BPI Sustainability held a Learning Session for their employees that is geared towards decluttering for healthier living and environmental responsibility. In line with this, DeclutterMNL was invited to give a talk on the very work that we do- Decluttering the Marie Kondo way! And of course, we said yes!

We are able to create workshops for big and small companies or even groups of friends. We did a workshop for a small group of 12 people in Ayessa’s home, where attendees were treated to seeing how she organize her home in person. Really driving home the point that it’s possible to decluttering ones whole home.

Excited and hyped over the opportunity, we gathered our materials, tips, and tricks to impart on our would-be audience, packed a bag, and headed on over to the BPI Buendia Center!

More Declutter Converts? We say YES!

It was our biggest audience to date! 74 participants filled the room. As soon as DMNL Founder Ayessa Bautista took the floor, the audience were eager to learn and understand the art and science behind Decluttering!

Everything from “root causes of hoarding” to a demonstration of the Marie Kondo folding method was laid out and presented, peppered with tiny anecdotes of funny and relatable stories in between. The attendees, though a shy group, were able to share their thoughts, experiences, and questions on Decluttering and the Minimaluxe Lifestyle - an excellent sign of engagement and interest from the room!

There was so much to cover and despite running longer than anticipated, everyone stayed till the end. Eager to learn how to handle some problem areas in the home such as…

  • Decluttering with Kids

  • Decluttering Documents and Receipts

  • Decluttering the Sink and Laundry area

We loved the engagement after the seminar with those who were inspired by the talk. Two lovely individuals approached Ayessa to talk to her about their current experiences with clutter and the struggle behind completely clearing the space. It was a true testimony to the need to do away with the habit of hoarding and begin an easier and healthier lifestyle that is not just decluttered but also a minimaluxe way of life!

It’s always a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to inspire others to declutter their homes, hearts, minds and lives, because we know that it won’t only benefit them as people, but our Earth as well. When we choose less but better and say #NoToThrowAwayCulture, the earth is better for it.

We would like to thank BPI Sustainability for this wonderful opportunity to inspire and change the way people think and act. Giving this talk to bring people into the world of Decluttering was truly an experience of a lifetime!
